At Gearing Up! we specialize in helping women regain control over their eating habits through the use of cognitive behavioral therapy. After a thorough assessment of your personality and history, we focus on increasing motivation, improving your body image, adhering to safe meal plans (with the nutritionist), calming and focusing skills, anxiety reduction skills, and weight management (with your physician). We then focus on cognitive behavioral therapy that includes cognitive restructuring, negative beliefs and thinking, using response cards to defeat negative thinking and establish more realistic explanations of stress and much more.

Since eating disorders have the highest rates of mortality of any psychiatric illness, we work closely with your physician to ensure your progress and safety. A careful collaboration between your physician, nutritionist, our counselors, and your family ensures the best outcome and sustained success.
